Mount Matavanu

3 facts about Mount Matavanu

This week we were tasked from our teachers to make a google video about facts 3 about Mount Matavanu.

First we were given a google doc about living on a lava flow. We skimmed and scanned through the story .

Then in separate groups we answered the following questions using information from the text and commenting on the questions to answer them.

Lastly we made a google video for 3 facts about Mount Matavanu and recorded our voices on a script to make the final project.

Diary WW1

Term 2 week 3 we learned about ww1 and the anzac also we visted the amzaing website called Walking with ANZAC. we explored hami grace dairy and it was awesome. Many young soldier were wouned/Killed In actions and if yo were a mother of a young soldier who wouned you will get a note telling you what happend.

We used Google Vids to record our diary entries. I enjoyed using this as it allowed me to Paint a picture in my mind and to make more conecction with anzac,  Something I found interesting about this task was we alot of distrtive words. 

Time Travel Podcast with Samuel Marsden

For our task i created a podcast ft Samuel Marsden. Our group Created a script about what Samuel Marsden Would have said when the time travelers went back in time to grab him.  Something I found intresting was he lasted That long in a boat but something i enjoyed was we worked as a team and we partispated.

The Kuaka

LI: To create an infographic that tells others about the migration of the kuaka.

Something interesting I found out about the Kuaka was They Fly around the mid Octember to the late September. From this DLO I can see Their are many facts about the kuaka bird and their intesting facts about them

Mapping the Migratory Flight of the Kuaka

LI: To use Google My Maps to show the migratory flight path of the Kuaka.

This week our task was to make a DLO Using my map to see how far from alaska to Nz. TheKuaka Can Fly over 11’6oo Kilometers And They can fly that far because they have a type of diet that makes them bulk up and they shred. The always have stop to refuel their body with insections and that gives them energy.

One intresting fact is Around 80,000 to 100,000 Kuaka arrive in New Zealand each year, from late September.

Dot to Dot Conections : The Kuaka

LI: To draw the lines between the words to show how the connections you have made.

This week our task for reading was to make a dot to dot connections about the kuaka bird’ Something our group found interesting was we couldn’t think of any connections with the words because we didn’t talk that much but it was okay because we were starting to talk and we started to collaborate.

This week our task was about Making a story with photos How it started and how it finished’ something i really enjoyed was how i got to talk to my friends. The Images just talk about how we got their and And the Things we did.

Working In Groups

LI: To understand that everyone has a role to play when we are working in groups

In LS2 we learn best when we learn with and from each other’ What your responsibility as a group member is Work As a Team. How working in a group helped you is you understand more about the kuaka.Why talking to others about your learning is important you get to learn new idea and you get to Know Eachother Better. 

 

Preventing Kauri Dieback.

LI: To understand how we can help prevent Kauri Dieback disease and why we need to do this.

One of our challenegs at camp was to walk the Cossey- Massey track at Hunua. Before we entered the bush we had to make sure our shoes were disinfected. This DLO tells why we needed to do this and why we need to help prevent the spread of Kauri Dieback.

A Moment in time.

LI: To write a poem that describes a moment in time

At camp we had lots of challenge activities to try.  Our challenge with our poem was to chose our words carefully so that we painted a clear picture of what we were describing in the mind of our readers. We had to use word hippo to use diffrent kind of words and I have described what it was like to feel when your on the high beam. We chose this challenge because it was the funiest activity we did and is Was preety simple to do.
