Malala Yousafzai (Speech)

This week we have made a canva poster about malala, we have worked in a Reading groups and also we had a guided reading Doc to finish, a Guided reading Doc is where you get questions to awnser and you write your predictions of what malala would say in her speech, we had to use one of malala key mesagges, Empower other with the weapon of knowledge, That was one of Malala Key Messages, Her Message was talking about all woman should have rights to learn and that woman should stand up and speak for themself, I felt that phrase powerful and she used her expressions to show her passion towards her speech.

 

Tongan Word Problem

For HTLW We made a Word Problem That relate to the tongan culture, Its when you make a wordd problem but you can add tongan names, Tongans Drinks and many more Tongan Items, it was kinda easy because we got to work eachother and we had great Communication with each other, Something i enjoyed was every non tongan showed respect to the Tongan Culture, Something i found intresting was you can do fractions with anything

Comic Strip ( Once a Panther )

we read the text Once a Panther and we were asked to create a comic strip in groups, (Group 3A) that depicts a scene related to the ideas of prejudice, justice and legal rights against the politics, or taking a stand in today’s world using thought bubbles or dialogue that explains the image and what happend during the Dawn Raids. Something I found interesting about this challenge was The Polynesian Panther stood together as one like family and they didn’t back down towards the Politics.

 

Rise Up (Once A Panther)

We read the text RISE UP: The Story of the Dawn Raids and the Polynesian Panthers and asked to create a DLO that explores and discusses both perspectives of this historical event in our groups it was alot easier because we got work with eachother and it made our discussions Helpful. Something I found interesting about this text was The dawn raids of the 1970s involves several considerations. In our opinion we think that The government of today (2021) should apologise for the past actions of the dawn raids from yesterday (1970) to insure no other public outcries occur and so no other families hold any grudges / anger. The dawn raids back then was unacceptable and caused generational trauma.

Dinosaur Eggs

Our challenge was to become a palaeontologist who uncovered a rare dinosaur egg fossil. We used Adobe Express to reimagine what a real find might look like. After a quick research challenge about habitat we used that information to create our image. My partner and I found the skeleton of a Dimetrodon. One fun fact i learned was a dimetrodon is a Apex Predotor. This task was fun because we got to add our own details to make it more olden day and relistic.

 

Mary Anning

Before we take part in our own dinosaur dig LS2 were challenged to capture the story behind Mary Anning, a pioneering fossil hunter and paleontologist during the early 19th century.  Mary Anning did discover the first almost complete skeleton of a plesiosaur, a marine reptile, in 1823.   She also nearly completed the ichthyosaur skeleton another marine reptile.  Who was also knowned as on of the first

Museum Trip (Volcano)

We went to a Musem and we had an activity about Volcanos, First we into groups and they showed us many Volcano Rocks which was cool, Next we got to feel the Volcano rock, My Favourite one to touch was the obsidian, We had to put the name to the correct rock, arfter that we had to think about what will we pack of their was a Volcanic eruption,

We had 30 seconds to decide what to pack if there was a volcanic eruption near us. Our group had to make wise choices so they could stay safe in the event they were evacuated,  One fun fact i learned was Volcanic ash can Hurt your skin and eyes. Here is the thing we had to pack.

Paired Reaserch Challenge

Our challenge was to create a DLO that tells others about the dinosaur we found when we excavated our dinosaur eggs is was easy because we work with eachother and it also made it fun. we had a list of facts on a Google Doc, which made it alot easier, then we listed the notes onto the DLO, Lastly we went onto AI to create a AI Video.

My partner and I found the skeleton of a Dimetrodon. Add an interesting fact about your dinosaur here. Something I found interesting was Dimetrodon is a Apex Predotor.

 

Fossils Type

This we our task was to make an DLO about the Type of fossils, It was two specific fossils which was Body fossils and Trace foossils and we had to research about them too, 2 fun facts i learnd was a body fossils is a perserved remains and trace fossils are a evidence they traced about the dinosaur. Something i learned was Trace fossils leave footprints then the polentolengist coleet the data froom it, Something i enjoyed was we got to work in groups which made it easier and also super intertaning.
